Recipe - Ham Hashbrown Casserole

2.gif Wednesday, 28 January 09 - 07:12 PM (GMT -06:00)
By Terry Mullican in Family Recipes
Ok, I wanted the first recipe to be something simple and fast...come to think of it, any recipe we post will be fast!  Ham Hashbrown Casserole is a great dish to add to your breakfast meals.

  1 Box Betty Cocker Hashbrowns
  2 Cups Lean Cubed Ham
  Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Heat the Cubed Ham in a skillet, then remove and set to the side.  Follow the hash browns cooking instructions and half way add the ham to the skillet.  A minute to two before the hash browns are finished cooking add the desired amount shredded cheddar cheese (usually just enough to lightly cover the top).

Optional:  Saute onions and peppers with ham.

And the end result!

Jan 2009 Family Update

2.gif Sunday, 25 January 09 - 02:56 PM (GMT -06:00)
By Terry Mullican in Mullican Family

Where did the year go?  It has been a while since I posted a family update.  I am sorry for this, but I made myself a promise when I first started this blog.  If I did not have something meaningful or fun to share… I would not post for the sake of posting!

We have had a pretty busy year!  Our family has had a great year!  We took some time over fall break to do our annual Virginia Creep Trail bike ride with Leslie's dad, Steve.  We all had a great time and the fall colors were incredible!  We really took our time this year and enjoy the ride and scenery.  Check out some of our pictures here.

Chase Mullican and Alli MullicanAlli is in her last year in Noah's Ark day care.  She is in the Elephant room this year with Mrs. Nancy (Chase's teacher from the Ark) and she loves it!  She is such a great little girl with a very funny personality.  She is learning about all kinds of things…space and Pluto, being a good citizen and Spanish!

Chase is now 9 and more fun than ever.  This year he has a pretty tough teacher but he is working hard and getting really good grades!  He must of got it from Leslie!  Chase recently purchased some Heelys (shoes with wheels in them!So lately…he is just a blur as he goes flying by!  He has spent plenty of time in the garage (since it has been cold) practicing riding on his new shoes.

Leslie is enjoying her "snow days" or as we like to call them…heavy frost days!  She has slowed down on taking pictures and is getting to enjoy some down time.  She is now keeping me busy with finishing our home remodeling project…you know the one we started 2 years ago!  Right now we are just getting some family pictures hung up and getting ready to start painting the living room and that dreaded kitchen!!!  She is excited and so I am (to get it over with!)  We are planning to tackle the kitchen over spring break this year.

And as for me…I am just working hard and trying to learn how to be a better manager.  Yep, I now have 2 programmers under me with multiple projects and I have to fight the need to do the work myself the let others do it.  I continue to learn more and more about Microsoft SQL.  We have a great team at Tire Company Solutions and we continue to blessed with great opportunities.

The past year I have pulled a lot of "irons" out of the fire.  I am now teaching only one Sunday a month at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.  All of my church committee responsibilities expired this year.  I still help manage the church network and phone systems.  I continue to do family finance counseling which I really enjoy.  Financial Peace has been such a large part of our lives over the years, I love to share the tools and methods Dave Ramsey teaches!

As for this website and what is to come...  Well, I not totally sure, but I would like to add some new sections...how about a food / recipe section!  As many of your know, I love to cook!  And I enjoy all kinds of food.  So you may see some different topics this year!  Leave and comment and let us know what you think!

We hope 2009 has many great adventures and blessing for your families!  We are looking forward to see where God takes us this year as a family!  May God bless you all!

My Prayer for 2009

2.gif Monday, 12 January 09 - 05:03 PM (GMT -06:00)
By Terry Mullican in Bible Study

O, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge

my territory, that Your hand would be with me,

and keep me from evil so I may not cause pain.

Please keep me from making mistakes I'm most

prone to when temptation comes. I confess what I

think is necessary, smart, or personally beneficial

is so often only the beautiful wrapping on sin.  So

please, keep evil far from me.  Please keep me safe

from the pain and grief sin brings. For the

dangers I can't see, or the ones I think I can risk

because of my experience (pride & carelessness),

put up a supernatural barrier.  Protect me, Father,

by your power. Please keep me safe from

temptations pulling at my emotions and my

physical needs, calling out to my sense of what I

deserve and what I have the "right" to feel and

enjoy. Because You are the true source of all that

is really life, direct my steps away from all that is

not of you. Please expand my opportunities and

my impact in such a way I touch more lives for

Your glory. Let me do more for you. At your

name Lord Jesus, every other power on earth

must bow or flee!

<I did not write this, a friend shared this with me several years ago and I have had it on my office wall since then.  I read it often and think about God's awesome abilities and what he has planned for me!  Happy New Years!>

Friendship

Whether by strange coincidence or divine guidance,
in the course of our life we cross paths with many people.
Some move toward us, others move away.
Some we choose to remember, others to forget.
But with a special few we seem to have no choice
for each has made an impact on the other
and their memory will live forever.
These people we call friends
--you, to me are such a one.
